Loyalty and Promotional Engine Integration
Loyalty and Promotional Engine integrations start with discount and promotion evaluation at checkout. The right model determines who calculates the final discount amount, which endpoints are used, and what the external system must do at checkout.
Choose the right modelβ
| Model | Loyal Guru responsibility | External system responsibility | Main use case |
|---|---|---|---|
| New Engine Promo Engine | Evaluates eligibility and calculates final cart discounts | Send cart data and apply the response values | POS/e-commerce wants Loyal Guru to be the promotion engine |
| New Engine Coupon Server | Evaluates eligibility, exposes campaign/coupon data, validates codes and vouchers | Calculate final price using the returned campaign data | POS already owns pricing logic but needs Loyal Guru campaign eligibility and coupon validation |
| Legacy Coupon Server | Serves legacy coupon/voucher data and redemption state | Interpret coupon fields and apply the discount | Existing legacy integrations that have not migrated to LE 2025 |
