Probability Management

Instant Win's probability system gives you precise control over how often each prize fires β€” so you can run bold campaigns without losing control of exposure or budget.

How Probabilities Work

Each prize is assigned a probability between 0% and 100%. Decimal values are allowed, up to two decimal places (e.g., 0.5% or 33.33%). When a customer's event satisfies the victory conditions, the engine runs a single weighted random draw among all the configured prizes: each prize's probability is its weight, and exactly one result is selected.

  • The probabilities of all prizes must add up to exactly 100%, decimals included (e.g., 33.33% + 33.33% + 33.34%). A campaign that does not add up to 100% cannot be saved.
  • No Prize is an explicit prize, never implicit. To give a lower chance of winning, complete the 100% with No Prize (e.g., Game participation 0.5% + No Prize 99.5%).
  • To always award a prize when the conditions are met, give that prize 100%.

Example:

PrizeProbability
500 points (Points & Wallet)60%
Game participation (Spin the Wheel)25%
Free product (Reward)5%
No Prize10%
Total100%

Out of every 100 qualifying draws, on average 60 customers win 500 points, 25 win a Spin the Wheel participation, 5 win the Reward, and 10 win nothing.

Stock Limits

Each prize can have a stock limit (Max limit) β€” the maximum number of times it can be awarded. When a prize's stock is exhausted, it is no longer awarded. The End of stock management field defines what happens to its probability:

OptionBehavior
Remove prize, leave probabilities unchangedThe exhausted prize is removed. Its probability is absorbed by the No Prize outcome β€” other prizes keep their original probabilities.

In the example above, if the Reward runs out of stock, the draw continues as 500 points 60%, Spin the Wheel 25%, and No Prize 15%.

No Prize has no stock and no Max limit.

Per-Customer and Global Limits

To control prize distribution at both campaign and customer level:

SettingDescription
Chances to participateMaximum number of times the Instant Win can be triggered in total across all customers
Chances to accrue per clientMaximum number of times a single customer can participate in this Instant Win

Both limits can be configured as: per day (natural), per month (relative or natural), per year (relative or natural), total number of times, or always. Every participation counts toward the limits, including those that end in No Prize.

Compliance Considerations

note

Odds disclosure requirements vary by jurisdiction. Consult your legal team before launching. Probabilities are configured per prize in the Owner App, so your team can publish the odds in the campaign terms or the app as required.
