Key Mechanics

Key Features

  • Event-driven triggers: Configure campaigns that activate on cart purchases, platform triggers, or custom events (e.g., completing a race, a customer birthday).
  • Probability management: Give each prize an exact probability (0–100%, decimals allowed). The probabilities of all prizes add up to 100%; one weighted random draw picks the result.
  • Budget protection: Set a stock limit (Max limit) per prize, a global participation limit (Chances to participate), and a per-customer limit (Chances to accrue per client) to prevent over-distribution.
  • Prize types: Points & Wallet, Rewards, Game participations (Scratch & Win or Spin the Wheel), and No Prize (the explicit chance of not winning). Discount and Coupon prizes are planned for a future phase.
  • Targeting: Available to all loyalty members or restricted to a specific audience via a Targeted Delivery.
  • No play step: The evaluation runs automatically when the event is received. The customer does not need to open the app or play β€” unlike Games.

How It Works

  1. A customer event (cart purchase, trigger, or custom event) is received by the platform.
  2. The engine checks whether any active Instant Win campaign has victory conditions that match the event.
  3. For matching campaigns, the engine verifies that the customer is within the targeting scope (all loyalty members, or holds the Targeted Instant Win voucher) and that all limits are satisfied (Chances to participate and Chances to accrue per client).
  4. If all checks pass, the engine runs a single weighted random draw among all the configured prizes, No Prize included. Each prize's probability is its weight in the draw, so exactly one result is selected.
  5. If the customer wins, the prize is delivered automatically β€” points credited, Reward assigned, or game participation granted. If No Prize is drawn, nothing is delivered and no notification is sent.
  6. The result is returned as an instant_win effect in the response to the event β€” for both winning and No Prize results.

The Instant Win result in the response

Every evaluated Instant Win adds an effect of type: "instant_win" to the effects array of the response (for example, the POST /carts response), both when the customer wins and when the draw returns No Prize. When the customer wins, the effect includes the prize data β€” prize_name, prize_description, and prize_rule_id (the points campaign, reward, or game rule won); a No Prize result returns the effect without prize data. select_customers tells whether the Instant Win is for loyalty members or targeted:

{
"rule_id": 323,
"line": 1,
"rule_name": "Gasta mΓ‘s de 3€",
"type": "instant_win",
"effect_type": "",
"distribution_type": "",
"value": 0,
"select_customers": "loyalty",
"winned_prize_index": 14,
"prize_name": "Ruleta navidad",
"prize_description": "Game de premio para Instant Win",
"prize_rule_id": 319
}

For a Targeted Instant Win, the effect also includes campaign_history_id and coupon_info (voucher_id, voucher_code, coupon_id, coupon_name, static_code) that identify the Targeted Delivery voucher used. Instant Win has no victory or defeat messages: the app builds the text shown to the customer from the prize data. See How to know if the customer won an Instant Win for the full interpretation guide and examples.
